This Private ITI (Private Industrial Training Institute) was started in 1978 to commemorate late Dr. Zakhir Hussain former President of India who was the Chairman of the Commission constituted in the year 1937 to study and submitting report about the introduction of the modern Basic Education and Technical Education in India This Institute is located near the Municipal office of Changnacherry at Kottayam District.

In 1978 this Private ITI started functioning with four trades and at present it is having eleven trades having permanent affiliation with NCVT. The vision of the Institute is to be recognized for setting the standards of excellence, widen intellectual horizons inculate self discipline and high ideals for the holistic development of the individual.
